Radically Colorado is built by Derek, Hayley & Kenny — the team behind Symbio Homes. Top 1% Realtors who happen to think the best way to help people move here is to actually show them what it’s like to live here.

The Site

Built for people moving here

Most relocation content online is recycled top-10 lists by people who’ve never lived here. Most real estate sites are template factories — same listing photos, same generic neighborhood descriptions, same disposable content.

We started Radically Colorado because we got tired of seeing transplant clients arrive disappointed — not because Colorado wasn’t what they hoped, but because the surface-level guides hadn’t told them what living here was actually like.

So we built our own. Every neighborhood profile, restaurant pick, and trail recommendation on this site comes from actual lived experience. We share what we know, the way we’d tell a friend.

The Team

Why we started this.

Derek founded Symbio Homes after getting fed up at a traditional Denver brokerage — watching the industry put commissions ahead of clients — and leaving to build something honest. About a year and a half in, Kenny joined as his partner. Together they later co-founded Symbio Property Management, expanding Symbio into a full portfolio approach: buy, sell, lease, manage — all under one roof.

Hayley (Derek’s wife) handles the mortgage side at Ideal Mortgage. Shai (Kenny’s wife) is a Colorado entrepreneur of her own. Four of us, two households, all-in on doing this right.

Derek & Hayley

Derek founded Symbio Homes. He grew up on a farm, knows hard work, was a monk before this (true story), and brings a numbers-centric, data-driven investment-advisor approach to your move. The kind of guy who’ll spend two hours on a phone call walking you through school districts or running 401k-vs-equity math with you.

Hayley, his wife, handles the mortgage side at Ideal Mortgage plus brings the design eye and hospitality background — she’s the reason your move feels human. Hayley snowboards, Derek hikes, and their son Bodhi has been running the household since October 2024 — alongside two dogs (Beyla and Ruth) and two cats (Bear and Bubba). They’ve helped hundreds of families plant roots in Colorado.

Property Management

Kenny & Shai

Kenny Sundlof joined Symbio as Derek’s partner about a year and a half after Derek founded it. Together, he and Derek co-founded Symbio Property Management — the side of the business that turns a home purchase into a long-term portfolio. Kenny’s a Fort Lewis (Durango) grad, certified Billy Strings devotee, and the guy you want hiking the Front Range with because he actually knows every trail.

He’s married to Shai, a Colorado entrepreneur in her own right. They live in South Denver with their cat, and Kenny runs a small but mighty BBQ operation on weekends.

With Kenny on property management and Derek on real estate, Symbio gives clients the full stack — buy, sell, lease, manage — from one team that talks to each other.
